The Feeding Prong provides an easy and fun way to feed silversides, krill, squid, an other fresh or frozen foods to predatory fish and invertebrates. The acrylic prong is nearly invisible underwater and allows for close-up feeding. It is excellent for simulating live prey with a “wiggle action”. Use The Feeding Prong to feed fresh or saltwater fish.
Instructions:
Skewer a suitable piece of food such as frozen krill, silversides or chunk of squid into the end of the feeding prong. Holding only the handle of the prong , place the food into the water and move it within the aquarium to the vicinity of the animal that is to be fed. If the animal is a predator the food should be wiggled in front of the fish to simulate a live prey species. After repeated feeding, it will become easier and easier to elicit the feeding response. If the animal to be fed is an anemone, crab or lobster simply use prong to place food near or into the animal's mouth or claws.
Specifications:
The tip has a rubber coating (1 1/2") for a better grip. The last 1 1/2" of prong is angled 45 degrees for ease of feeding. The prong is clear.
