Attractive durable black 7¼ inch wide anodized extruded aluminum hood (not bent sheet metal) comes with a 99.9% reflective German mirror polished aluminum reflectors around each individual bulb, 8 foot power cord, and bulbs. The Solar T5 hood is very popular with planted aquarium, and reef aquarium hobbyists. T-5s have a high light out put and operate much cooler than metal halide lighting system. Aquarists that want to have control over the intensity of the light over the aquarium often choose the Solar T5 hood. Reef hobbyists often install separate timers to control when the 10000K and Actinic rows come on, to simulate dawn and dusk.
